Virtual Peace Walk 2020
The Philadelphia Interfaith Walk for Peace and Reconciliation strives to create an environment to nurture a transformative process of reflection, relationship building, and action among faith and secular groups working toward peace and justice through periodic dialogues about challenging issues such as community service, outreach to religious and ethnic groups experiencing intolerance or persecution, and an annual Peace Walk.
Since 2004, the annual Interfaith Walk for Peace and Reconciliation has drawn crowds ranging from 500 to 1,000 participants; an even more impressive feat given that the Peace Walk is grassroots organization.
From everyone at the Philadelphia Interfaith Walk for Peace and Reconciliation, we thank all who joined, shared the event, donated, and engaged with us on our Virtual Peace Walk this year! It was an overwhelming success.
If you were not able to watch the program, the entire video is available below!

Apology by Al Aqsa Society Leadership for Anti-Semitic Remarks
A guest imam made anti-Jewish remarks which the leadership failed to recognize and condemn
Philadelphia, March 9, 2019: Al Aqsa Islamic Society has been recently criticized for sermons by a guest imam that contained anti-Jewish speech. We categorically denounce speech of this kind and apologize for not taking immediate corrective action. Al Aqsa rejects anti-Semitism in any form. It in no way represents our beliefs and policies, and is inconsistent with the interfaith work we have been doing for many years. As leaders of Al Aqsa Islamic Center, we pledge to be vigilant in ensuring that hate speech is neither heard nor tolerated in our mosque or community.
